Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation is a dynamic Reform Jewish congregation that focuses on tradition, growth, and identity that crosses many generations. We are a 501(c)3 U.S. nonprofit, and we recognize and appreciate the long history of generosity by individuals and families. NVHC Designated Funds
Seldon and Ruth Kruger Fund for Adult Learning - Keeps Jewish learning alive through lectures, films, classes, book discussions, Shabbatons, and Interfaith Dialogues.
Ark/Sanctuary - Provides for the care and maintenance of the ark which holds NVHC's torahs, and the Sanctuary for NVHC worship.
Art - Underwrites displays throughout the temple of Jewish art and artifacts.
Building [Expansion] - Dedicated to the retirement of the mortgage debt incurred during NVHC's most recent expansion of the school and administrative wing.
Building Bridges [to Young Jewish Adults] – Dedicated to outreach and community building to engage young Jewish adults, primarily in their 20’s and 30’s.
Chevra Kadisha – Assistance for burial expenses.
Choir - Enriches NVHC's adult choir, Kol Shirah, by funding honoraria for special guest artists, sound system enhancements, and other choir-related expenses.
College Outreach - Allows NVHC to stay in touch with college-age congregants by sending them holiday baskets while they are attending college.
Fran Gibbs Preschool Scholarship - Gives students an opportunity to be part of our wonderful Preschool program when they might not otherwise be able to afford it.
Inclusion Initiative - Strives to ensure that all members of the NVHC Congregation are able to participate meaningfully in all spiritual, educational, celebratory and life event activities at the synagogue.
Library - Expands NVHC's library materials through book purchases, periodical subscriptions, and repairs.
Louis Gold Children's Music - Helps instill a love of Jewish music by subsidizing concerts by professional artists and by providing training for lay leaders guiding NVHC's youth in music.
NVHC Cares (Caring Committee) – Supports efforts to help members in need in the NVHC community, such as with meals, transportation and shiva arrangements.
NVHC Change (Social Action) – Used to support NVHC community service projects.
Playground – Used for improvement of the NVHC playground, including purchase and upkeep of playground equipment.
Prayer Book - Purchase and repair of Siddurim.
Preschool - Supports the NVHC Preschool in providing a Jewish educational and social environment for 2 - 4 year olds.
Ellen Reich Early Childhood Teacher Continuing Education – Used to support continuing education of NVHC Preschool teachers.
Religious School - Funds special programs, initiatives, technology, and other equipment for NVHC's Religious School.
Torah - Provides for the maintenance and repair of NVHC's three Torah scrolls, including one rescued from the Holocaust.
Tot Shabbat – Supports experiential worship services on Shabbat mornings for pre-school aged children, their families and friends
Youth Group - Keeps Judaism vibrant among participants in NVHC Youth Groups.
You may also make your donation to the General Fund. These donations will be put to excellent use for ongoing needs that make our temple a vibrant, sustainable institution.
