Cindi Drake became NVHC’s Director of Early Childhood Education in July, 2012. Cindi came to NVHC Preschool from Or Ami Nursery School in Lafayette Hill, PA where she held the position of Assistant Director since 2007. Prior to being the Assistant Director at Or Ami Nursery School, Cindi was a lead teacher for twelve years.
Cindi has experience in all aspects of directing a preschool including budgets, staffing, staff evaluations, programming, student observations, and community outreach, to name a few. As Director of Or Ami’s Nursery Summer Camp, Cindi is credited with growing the camp to a daily enrollment of over 45 children by offering new and innovative programming, including swimming lessons, sports, and much more.
Cindi participated in continuing education through early childhood workshops offered by the Area Nursery School Directors Association and Jewish Learning Ventures (formerly ACAJE) as well as received certificates in Mediation and Conflict Resolution and Adult Literacy Training, and is a certified pre-k through kindergarten teacher. She has been an elementary school reading tutor and has taught adult non-readers as well. Cindi is currently a member of the Directors Council of Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning.
Cindi graduated from CUNY at Queens College with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Physical Anthropology), with Departmental Honors. Cindi and her husband Tom have a daughter, Livia, and a son, Austin.
