Shabbat Sustenance– For the Body, Soul, and Mind

We will begin our Shabbat morning experience with sustenance for the body – bagels and shmear, coffee and tea.  From there, we will enter into soul-filled sustenance, that may vary some from week to week, including mindful experiences of prayer, music, meditation or yoga. The remainder of our time together with be sustenance for the mind, a time of conversation and insight. Come for the food, stay for the spirit – we hope you will join us on this nourishing Shabbat morning journey!

Selichot Havdalah and a Movie

Join us to welcome the Days of Awe with a topical film, dessert, and worship service.

7:30 pm – Film: Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

9:00 pm – Discussion and dessert

9:30 pm – Selichot service. At the end of the service, we will welcome the Days of Awe and dress our Torah scrolls in white for this holy period.

Finally Friday Shabbat

Ahh, it’s finally Friday! Come celebrate the last Friday of every month with us! We will have a family-mindful service for the entire community, followed by oneg and dinner. Wine will be provided. Registration for dinner is required. Please click here to register!

Tashlich (“Casting Off”) Service

It is customary on the afternoon of the first day of Rosh Hashanah to gather where there is flowing water and empty our pockets, throwing bread crumbs to symbolically cast off our sins. Join us at Lake Fairfax Park for this powerful and cleansing ritual.
