Using a modern Hebrew textbook\, students read engaging short texts and stories that gradually increase in complexity. \nReading selections are rich and varied\, ranging from contemporary Israeli stories to Hasidic tales\, midrashim\, and biblical narratives. Students practice reading\, building fluency and independence\, while grammatical concepts are introduced clearly and thoughtfully. To reinforce learning\, students have access to fun interactive games\, along with additional custom-made materials created to support reading\, vocabulary building\, and grammar practice. These resources help solidify class content and encourage meaningful practice beyond the classroom. \nThis course is ideal for learners who want continued practice in Hebrew reading\, a broader vocabulary\, and a deeper understanding of Hebrew structure in a supportive and engaging environment.

DESCRIPTION:Short Story Discussion Group\nFirst Monday of each month \n7:30-8:30pm\, on Zoom \nJoin us for a fourth year of monthly lay-led discussions of Jewish short stories. Four\nNVHC members have selected the stories and will take turns leading the discussions.\nEach session will stand on its own – you can attend whenever you have the time and\ninterest. We’ll meet on the first Monday of the month on Zoom at 7:30pm for 45 minutes\nto an hour. Participants will receive the story and meeting links in advance. To sign up\nfor this year’s discussion group\, email shortstories@nvhcreston.org. Even if you\nparticipated last year\, we’d like you to sign up again so that we can gauge interest in the\nprogram and ensure that we have the correct email address for you.
