DESCRIPTION:Taught by Neta Litvin\nMondays\, 12 weeks\, beginning September 28\n7:00-8:00pm\nOnline Only \nThis course is for adult learners who have a solid foundation in Hebrew and are ready to expand their skills and become more comfortable using the language. Using Brandeis Modern Hebrew ~ Hebrew in Context as our core textbook\, students continue to develop all four language skills: speaking\, listening\, reading\, and writing. \nThe textbook presents Hebrew through meaningful themes\, real-life situations\, dialogues\, and a variety of reading materials. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced and practiced in context\, making it easier to connect the language to actual communication. Students are also exposed to authentic materials and to aspects of Israeli and Jewish culture\, helping bring the language to life. \nAt the Intermediate level\, we focus on understanding and using the language with increasing independence. Students expand their vocabulary\, strengthen their reading comprehension\, and develop a deeper understanding of Hebrew grammar and sentence structure while practicing how to express themselves in Hebrew. \nLearning continues beyond the textbook through fun and interactive games\, and additional custom-made materials created specifically to support our students. These resources provide extra opportunities to review vocabulary and grammar\, practice reading and listening\, and reinforce what we learn together in class. \nThis course is a great fit for learners who want to move beyond basic Hebrew and become more confident\, capable\, and comfortable using the language.

DESCRIPTION:Short Story Discussion Group\nFirst Monday of each month \n7:30-8:30pm\, on Zoom \nJoin us for a fourth year of monthly lay-led discussions of Jewish short stories. Four\nNVHC members have selected the stories and will take turns leading the discussions.\nEach session will stand on its own – you can attend whenever you have the time and\ninterest. We’ll meet on the first Monday of the month on Zoom at 7:30pm for 45 minutes\nto an hour. Participants will receive the story and meeting links in advance. To sign up\nfor this year’s discussion group\, email shortstories@nvhcreston.org.
