DESCRIPTION:The Book Of Joshua: Life in the Promised Land\nTaught by: Rabbi Barrett\nThursdays\, October 19\, November 30\, December 14\, January 25\, February 15\, March 7\n6:30-8:00pm\, in person and online\nPlease note: The first class will be from 6:30-7:20 to allow people to attend the Speaker Series that night. \nThe Book of Joshua recounts what happens to the Israelites after Torah concludes.\nMoses dies and the people enter the Land of Israel only to face great challenges settling\nthere. This course will take a close look at the complex issues such as identity\, leadership\,\nand power as the people settled in ancient Israel.\nOur study will make heavy use of the Hebrew Bible text as our primary source but will also\ncall up Midrashic\, medieval\, and modern commentaries to make sense of the narrative. \n  \nRegistration is required – click here to register!
