There are three major elements to the celebration of Sukkot: the commandment to dwell in booths, the commandment to rejoice (Sukkot is the only festival with an explicit commandment to rejoice), and giving thanks for the bounty of the earth during the fall harvest. This year, in addition to building our sukkah at NVHC like we do every year, you are invited to personal gatherings at the homes of our clergy! Join Cantor Caro or Rabbi Holzman at their homes, or Rabbi Wainer at NVHC, on Erev Sukkot, Sunday October 13, to welcome this joyous holiday. Click here to RSVP – please RSVP so that we know how many people to expect.
1:00-3:00 pm – with Rabbi Wainer at NVHC for young families
2:00-4:00 pm – with Rabbi Holzman at his home in Reston
3:30-5:30 pm – with Cantor Caro at her home in Reston
