SHABBAT

Welcome the end of each week with song, reflection, and community in a warm, welcome environment. Shabbat services at NVHC are filled with inspirational music, thought-provoking sermons, and even some time for sharing personal milestones among service attendees.

FRIDAY NIGHT SERVICES

Friday evening is your chance to disconnect from the outside world, join with family and friends, and welcome Shabbat! Our Erev Shabbat services are joyful, warm, and welcoming, meant to touch both mind and heart. Our variety of worship experiences provide different ways to engage in the power of prayer and the potential of Jewish spirituality to reach our souls and change our lives.

Kol Shirah, our wonderful adult choir, regularly enhances our worship experience, with the participation of the entire congregation always in mind. Periodically, our youth choir (Shireinu) may take to the bimah to ramp up the ruach!

Following all of our worship services, we have a delicious oneg (cookies, fruit, and sweets) to bring in Shabbat joy!

Erev Shabbat services begin at 7:00 pm every Friday, except the last Friday of the month, when they begin at 6:00 pm. Please see Finally Friday below for more information.

Finally Friday

Join us on the last Friday of every month at 6:00 pm for a family-mindful service for the entire community, followed by an oneg and optional dinner! Registration for dinner is required. Please click here to register. (please note registration is only open and updated during the second half of each month).

SATURDAY MORNING SERVICES

Shabbat Sustenance

We will begin our Shabbat morning experience every Saturday at 9:00 am with sustenance for the body – bagels and shmear, coffee and tea. From there, we will enter into soul-filled sustenance, which may include mindful experiences of prayer, music, meditation or yoga. The remainder of our time together will be sustenance for the mind, a time of conversation and insight. Come for the food, stay for the spirit – we hope you will join us on this nourishing Shabbat morning journey! Previous Torah study or Hebrew fluency is not required. If you have questions or want more information, contact our ShowClick Here to View Contact Information.

Our community celebrates B’nai Mitzvah and other life cycle events, when scheduled, following Shabbat Sustenance. Please check our calendar for those dates.

TOT SHABBAT

Nothing will warm your heart faster than seeing our very smallest members running to the sanctuary on Shabbat!  Held on the first Saturday of each month, Tot Shabbat gives our children and their parents the space and time to truly experience the joy of Shabbat.
