Join the Racial Justice Team for a meaningful and memorable Juneteenth Observance. We’ll begin with a ritual lead by our clergy team, followed by a conversation with featured speaker Marc Elias on “The Voting Rights Act of 1965 and Judicial Decisions Which Diminish Its Effect.” Mr Elias is the Founder of Democracy Docket and is a nationally-recognized authority and expert in voting rights, campaign finance, and redistricting law. He has successfully argued and won four cases in the US Supreme Court, as well as dozens of cases in state supreme courts and US courts of appeal.

The final part of the evening will be a hands-on opportunity to get involved in preserving and expanding voter participation in Virginia with a variety of different projects.
